Welcome to the world of educational support!

GET TO KNOW MICHELLE

I’m happily married to my husband, Adam, and we have two amazing daughters, Emily and Lauren as well as two dogs, Sophie and Waffles. I am deeply passionate about supporting students with learning needs in the educational sector, particularly those with ADHD, ADD, Dyslexia, and Executive Functioning challenges.

My journey in education began with a Master's degree from Pepperdine University, followed by a decade of dedicated teaching in elementary schools. Over the last four years, I have been tutoring students from kindergarten to 8th grade, honing my skills and expanding my knowledge base. I am an Educational Therapist and am trained in the Orton Gillingham Literacy program.

Equipped with the ability to conduct curriculum-based assessments across all subjects for grades K-8, I communicate with the student’s teachers and their team of professionals on a regular basis. I dedicate time to assist students with executive functioning skills and am proficient in all subjects within the K-8 curriculum. I work individually with students in a supportive and encouraging setting, providing supplementary materials to enhance their academic progress.

My primary goal is to offer alternative teaching methods that foster confidence, independence, resilience, and academic excellence in my students. By creating a positive and nurturing environment, I aim to empower them to excel in the classroom and beyond, paving the way for their success as confident, capable, and well-rounded individuals.

“My son started working with Michelle over two months ago. Michelle worked with my older son who is going to high school next year and currently works with my son who is in 6th grade as well. He has improved his study skills tremendously. She’s currently working on reading fluency and reading comprehension with my second grade son. He has improved so much in the past month and will be ready for third grade with more confidence and a stronger foundation.”
